PACS Cart
The RDP PACS Cart incorporates our higher capacity power management system, ensuring good mobile use for applications where two power-hungry, larger displays are required.
The height of the mounting posts can also be extended to accommodate twin 20" high resolution displays mounted in portrait mode, and the work surface is enlarged to protect the displays from collision damage.

LCD or LED?
Whether the Cart is supplied with LED power indicators, or an LCD Screen, the charging electronics and other power characteristics are the same between the two variants.
The LED option is a highly visible row of 1 x red, 2 x amber, 3 x green LEDs showing the charging status and remaining battery capacity. There is also a single green LED displaying if the unit is plugged in and on charge.
The LCD Screen shows the same information in digital form, indicating whether the cart is charging the batteries, and the remaining capacity of the battery cells as a percentage.

Pullout Keyboard Tray
Where additional space is needed for viewing notes or a writing surface required, the PACS Cart can be equipped with a pull out keyboard tray which can be pushed away when not in use.
Printer Supports
The PACS Cart can accommodate various makes and models of label and barcode printers as shown below. Please contact your account manager or email our internal sales team if you have particular printer options you would like to integrate.
Sharps Bin Holders
RDP Health have a range of brackets for supporting various types and sizes of sharps bins. If you have particular requirements which are not shown on the website, please contact your account manager or email us, and we will be pleased to find you a solution.
Worksurface Sizes
There are 3 work surface size options available for the PACS Cart. These are:
- 600mm = Standard
- 710mm = Wide
- 825mm = Extra Wide.
Wireless Aerial Mount
As standard, all RDP Health powered Mobile Carts have a built in RJ45 LAN port in the side of the PC housing which connects internally to the PC's network port. For wireless applications, the Cart can be fitted with a wireless antenna.

Battery Management
Our own charging system monitors the state of the batteries and takes the appropriate action whether rapid charging, trickle charging or deciding whether to route power to the PC from the mains or the batteries within the Mobile Cart.
We have taken great care to design a system which is as robust as possible and able to cope with a certain amount of user abuse. However, battery up time and overall battery life are greatly increased if users abide by the following 4 simple rules;
- Charge the mobile cart little and often. WHEN NOT IN USE, PLUG IT IN
- Use power management for cutting power to the display when not in use. Do not use screen savers which draw unnecessarily on the battery capacity
- Do not allow the mobile cart to discharge to a point where power is cut to the PC. Our system prevents the batteries from entering a state of deep discharge, but we do not release power to the PC for approximately 3 hours ensuring the batteries are replenished before being allowed to deliver power output to the PC. While in this protected mode, the PC will function when the mobile cart is plugged in and charging, but not when unplugged
- MOST IMPORTANTLY!
Never put the mobile cart into storage, or leave inactive in a state of discharge. If the cart is not going to be used for some time, it should either be left on charge indefinitely, where the batteries will continually be topped up, or should be fully charged, and then turned off with the transit switch underneath the cart. The mobile cart will remain undamaged if left for several months in this 'hibernated' state
Leaving the mobile cart for long periods in a state of discharge will irreversibly damage the battery cells which will then have to be replaced.
