Our Hospital Laptop Cart initially started life as a complicated product, bristling with clever features.
During the seemingly endless user trials, and knowing that Trust budgets were getting increasingly tighter, we established that only a few key features were absolutely necessary in the product:
Lightweight, height adjustable, easy to clean, affordable, minimal storage and with a secure way of mounting a variety of laptops.
Everything else was then designed out, and we make no apologies for this very simple product.

Anti Microbial Membrane
Many Laptop Carts are configured in such a way that a third party infection control keyboard is required to be fitted, incurring additional weight and expense. The anti-microbial membrane plate from RDP Health is an innovative solution comprising a powder coated aluminium plate that overlays the laptop's own keyboard and is fitted with a tough anti-microbial membrane.
The Membrane Plate sits on top of the laptop, rather than enclosing it, thereby leaving full access to all the side ports, and does not interfere with the strength of the wireless reception.
The Antimicrobial Membrane Plates for the Laptop Cart are universal, and come in four standard sizes.

Laptop Retainers
Constructed from 2.5mm steel and intended to prevent the laptop being removed from the cart by even the most determined attempts.
The laptop retainers can attach to the Laptop Cart in one of three locations, ensuring that laptops ranging from 14" to 19" can be securely mounted.
The retainers are secured in place with either standard bolts, wing nuts, or high security fixings at special request.
MCA Cart
The Laptop Cart is a perfect platform for mounting MCA devices. By simply removing the laptop retaining brackets and fitting the docking station in the mounting holes provided gives a completely mobile point of care terminal.
This configuration provides a lightweight, robust platform on which the MCA can be docked when not required at the patient bedside, and can be used with a full size keyboard and conventional mouse for greater data entry efficiency.
Extended Work Surfaces
Need an occasional boost to the work surface area? The RDP Health Laptop Cart can be supplied with two options to extended the available work surface.
The flip up work surface as shown above attaches to the side of the unit and can be folded away when not required.
The cart is also available with a front extended work surface which is particularly useful for MCA configurations, where an additional keyboard and mouse are required for more efficient data entry.
Sliding Mouse Tray
The sliding mouse tray accessory mounts underneath the DB-1000 work surface, replacing the front mounted notes basket.
Manufactured in rugged, smooth compact laminate, the mouse tray provides both left and right hand additional mouse areas.
Locking Castors
As standard, the Laptop Cart is shipped with five low friction, non locking castors. On request, we can fit a number of locking castors prior to shipment, or these can be retrofitted once the cart is already in service.

Glove Box Holder
This example has been custom designed for one of our French sites and is a good example of the options which are available on the Laptop Cart.
The customer requested an additional lightweight fabricated part, that could accommodate a hand scanner, glove box, and alcohol gel bottle. We also redesigned the PSU holder so that the laptop's power supply could not be removed from the cart by users.
Secure PSU Holder
The standard cart has been designed so that the Laptop's PSU can easily be removed from the cart should this be required.
For those concerned about unauthorised removal of the PSU from the cart, we also have the option of an enclosed box from which the PSU cannot easily be removed. This box houses a socket into which the PSU is plugged, and is supplied with an extendable coiled charging cable so that the laptop's power supply could not be removed from the cart by users.
Gel & Scanner Holders
Shown below are two separate accessories that can be attached to the either side of the cart, or on the rear. Both the Gel Holder and Scanner Mount can be easily retrofitted to carts which are already in service.
